Before installing a new water pump, ensure that the pump does not have any manufacturing defects. If the water pump does not appear to be performing appropriately after installation, check the lines leading to and from the antifreeze reservoir and radiator for any blockages. When replacing the water pump, debris in the coolant reservoir can become stuck within the bottom of the container. Remove the line at the base of the container, and flush the reservoir.
